Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms apply to everyone who joins or uses Well of Waters. By creating an account you agree to be bound by them — please read them prayerfully and carefully.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Well of Waters. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Well of Waters (“Well of Waters”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of our website, mobile applications, and related services (together, the “Platform”).

Well of Waters is a warm, church-verified community where single Christians can meet meaningful connections safely, intentionally, and at a human pace. By registering or otherwise using any part of the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Definitions

In these Terms the following words have the meanings given:

  • "Platform"The Well of Waters website, applications, and related services.
  • "Member"A verified individual with a Well of Waters account.
  • "Church Partner"A church or ministry that verifies the membership and good standing of its members.
  • "Church Code"A unique code issued by a Church Partner that a Member uses to confirm their connection to that church during sign-up.
  • "Connection"A mutual interest between two Members, formed only where both have consented.
  • "Content"Any profile information, photos, messages, or other material a Member submits to the Platform.

3. Eligibility

To join Well of Waters you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Be a single Christian genuinely seeking meaningful connection in line with your faith.
  • Be connected to a participating Church Partner and able to verify that connection.
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself.

By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet these criteria and that all information you provide is truthful. Membership is personal to you and may not be transferred to anyone else.

4. Church Verification

Well of Waters is built on trust within the Body of Christ. Membership requires verification through a Church Partner, usually by entering a valid Church Code shared with you by your church.

We make reasonable efforts to confirm that Church Codes and Church Partners are genuine, but we do not warrant the conduct, beliefs, or standing of any individual Member beyond the scope of that verification. A church's participation does not constitute an endorsement of any particular Member, and verification is not a guarantee of any Member's character or intentions.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Each person may hold only one Well of Waters account.

Please notify us immediately at support@wellofwaters.com if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.

6. Community Standards

Well of Waters should always feel warm, calm, loving, and peaceful. As a Member you agree to treat every other Member with the dignity, honour, and kindness due to a brother or sister in Christ. In particular, you agree to:

  • Represent yourself honestly — your photos, age, and profile must be your own and accurate.
  • Communicate respectfully, even when declining or ending a conversation.
  • Honour others' boundaries and pace, without pressure.
  • Keep what others share with you in confidence private.

8. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is not permitted on the Platform:

  • Creating fake, duplicate, or impersonating accounts.
  • Harassing, threatening, abusing, or intimidating any Member.
  • Soliciting money, gifts, investments, or financial support from other Members (including romance scams).
  • Sharing sexually explicit, violent, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate content.
  • Using the Platform for commercial solicitation, advertising, or recruitment.
  • Providing false information during sign-up or church verification.
  • Misusing another Member's personal information or sharing it without consent.
  • Scraping, reverse-engineering, or attacking the Platform or its infrastructure.

We take these standards seriously. Breaching them may lead to immediate suspension or removal from the community.

9. Safety & Reporting

Your safety matters to us. If a Member makes you uncomfortable or behaves in a way that breaks these Terms, please report them through the app or contact us at safety@wellofwaters.com. We review reports carefully and act where appropriate, which may include warning, suspending, or removing a Member and, where relevant, informing their Church Partner.

Well of Waters is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services.

10. Your Content

You retain ownership of the Content you submit. By posting Content, you grant Well of Waters a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use that Content as needed to operate and improve the Platform.

You are responsible for the Content you share and confirm that you have the right to share it. We may remove Content that breaches these Terms or that we reasonably consider harmful to the community.

11. Our Role & Limits

Well of Waters provides the technology that helps Members find and form Connections. We are not a party to any relationship between Members, and we do not conduct background or criminal checks beyond church verification.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, Well of Waters is not liable for the conduct of any Member, whether online or in person, or for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of the Platform. The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
